100 REASONS WHY WHY PDP IS ANGRY WITH GOVERNOR AHMED ALIYU (FCNA) (PHD),.By Malama Sumayya Abubakar Shamaki. .One of the fundamental objectives of democratic governance is service delivery to the people.This encompasses provision of basic necessities of life, such as water, shelter, food security, quality education, human capital development, commerce, housing, youth and women empowerment among others.Since the return to democracy in 1999, Sokoto state has been so lucky to have leaders such as Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and Senator Àminu Waziri Tambuwal who all ruled before the incumbent , Governor, Ahmed Aliyu. Both Bafarawa and Wamakko left indelible footprints on sands of time while Tambuwal's era was not so memorable. Tambuwal spent 8 years focussing on how to become a president instead of striving to either equal his predecessors or even surpassed them. Gov. Ahmed Aliyu who has spent just a little over one year in office has been able to achieve what Tambuwal failed to achieve in 8 years. Therefore, Tambuwal is not happy that his former deputy is making giant strides and this by implication becoming a big threat to Tambuwal and the PDP in the next general elections. .The whole social media brouhaha is about 2027. The battle line was drawn when the APC- led administration under Gov Ahmed Aliyu unveiled 100 viable projects to celebrate its 100 days in office something Tambuwal couldn't do in his 100 days in office because there was nothing to celebrate other jumping from one flight to another wasting tax payers money for a presidential ticket that never was..Meanwhile, the achievements so far recorded by the Ahmed Aliyu administration within just a year in office were due to the resolve embedded in the governor, right from the outset to take Sokoto state to greater heights.Therefore, it is never surprising that the PDP has hired social media mercenaries to engage in baseless and unwarranted condemnation of the performing APC administration in Sokoto Though, it is a sign of expressing their hatred, bitterness, animosity and jealousy but in every game, there are rules of engagement. The opposition in Sokoto need to recover from its slumber for the APC has so far proved that it is far better than the PDP. It would not be out of place to invite the opposition to join hands with the Ahmed Aliyu administration to move the state forward since that is what governance is all about, moving forward.The ongoing movie in the social media by the PDP supporters has indeed, clearly demonstrated their depression against the APC. In short, engaging in smearing the credibility and reputation of His Excellency, Gov Ahmed Aliyu’s administration is never a solution. Instead they could have engaged in objective criticism that will benefit the people, the state and the nation in general.It is of course, very conspicuous that, one cannot compare darkness with light. The 8 years wasted by the PDP leadership in Sokoto State is an experience no any progressive mind would want to witness again. The bitter experience and unwanted legacy of bad leadership which displayed incompetence, corruption and confusion that simply characterized the immediate PDP administration in Sokoto State is still fresh in our minds. These no doubt, were really great symbols of its total failure. This bad history which their leaders left behind for them as a legacy to the younger and future generations of the State is undoubtedly their source of worry especially now that, the APC led administration’s star is shining as majority of the good people of Sokoto State are applauding the good works of the APC for the wonderful and excellent initiatives and achievements recorded so far..There is nothing PDP supporters could do to smear the good name and reputation of the APC or its Governor as every reasonable or right-thinking individual knows, all the criticism and condemnations of the PDP loyalists against the present administration emanated from animosity .Ahmed Aliyu’s performance within one year in office is the crux of this open anger and as the days and months role by more viable projects would continue to be executed for the benefits of the people. .In fact, every well-meaning and sincere Nigerian could judge that, the criticism and condemnations of the present administration under the able leadership of Gov Ahmed by the supporters of the opposition party are basically on the ground of antagonism.Incidentally, people in glass house should learn not to throw stones. . However, the dividends of democracy are indeed, felt in nooks and crannies of the state. The number of developmental projects ranging from road constructions, provision of housing accommodation to the welfare of civil servants, adequate water and electricity supply as well as provision of adequate working facilities to security personnel and support to farmers across the state are great testimonies to these assertions. .It is very obvious that, no amount of criticism or condemnation could destroy or tarnish the reputation of one whose name is protected and promoted by God the Almighty. Gov. Ahmed Aliyu has really conquered the hearts of the good people of Sokoto State by the will of God Almighty and his laudable achievements as well as a number of initiatives that have direct bearing on the masses in the state.
